What is Recorly?
Recorly is a browser-based screen recording and video-sharing workspace currently operating as a private beta.
What can I record?
Your browser can request access to a supported screen, window or tab. Camera and microphone are optional and remain controlled by browser permission prompts.
Do I need to install an app?
No. The supported product currently runs in a compatible desktop browser. Native desktop applications are planned, not currently available.
Are recordings private?
Yes. New recordings are private by default. Anyone with the link can watch a recording only while its owner has link sharing turned on, and turning sharing off stops the old link working straight away.
Which uploads are supported?
The current private-beta upload workflow accepts MP4, WebM and MOV video files up to 30 MB.
Is billing active?
No. Recorly is free during the beta and there are no paid plans yet. Any future plan will be announced on the Pricing page before it applies to anyone.
Does Recorly claim SOC 2 or HIPAA compliance?
No. Recorly does not currently publish either compliance claim. Contact support before uploading regulated or highly sensitive material.
